Jenson Button buys out Williams contract for £18m

British Formula One driver Jenson Button is set to remain at BAR for the foreseeable future after buying his way out of a deal to join Williams next season.
The 25-year-old is believed to have paid around £18m of his own money to buy his freedom from the contract he agreed with Williams a year ago.

Button was originally hoping to join Williams at the end of last season, but Formula One arbitrators ruled that he was still contracted to race for BAR.

I heard his new contract is worth £50million over five years, so he's up 32 mill, not bad
