Bondo / Bodyfiller

A friend of mine just told that the only thing keeping his bodykit on his corsa is Bodyfiller - it's not screwed in at all..

Is this possible - I was under the impression that items like sideskirts ought to be screwed on and then you simply use the body if you want the fit to have the "flush" look..

Am I wrong? Are things like side skirts and bumper add-ons simply stuck on with with bodyfiller??!

could be .. in fact some of the SHOW cars use this mettod

but it would be mad to use that on your everyday car . a simple ''bad road'' or a higher border could be desastrous for your wannabe bodykit

i would go for screws/pop rivets

Some bodyshops will just use resins to attach kits - a fibreglass kit will be fairly light. Though having said that I wouldn't personnally depend on a bit of glue. You could have hung off my blended DC skirt that was on my FTO - it had 3 brackets underneath plus about 10 rivets which had filler placed over them and blended in.
