Mucho fun and games with the new GR

Postby soc » Fri Jul 11, 2003 10:51 am

I cannot believe how much fun it is having a GR - having only had the car since Tuesday I'm still in that happy place where it's performance is an all new thing for me.

Last night on the M50 I caned an Audi TT (180bhp version), BMW 523 and Ford Escort (yes some goon in a Ford Escort had a go) - I ripped the BM just as you get on the motorway after the airport, out accelerated him to 70 by a good bit, the audi was a fun one, I caned him after the toll bridge heading south - ripped him all the way up to 90, haha, he was not very impressed. And the escort... well imagine this, I'm quietly doing 70 on the M50 and this 1997 escort drives up my ass..... jesus how I laughed, in fact I almost pissed myself. Put the boot down and left him, hit the brakes, foot down, left him, hit the brakes... then he decides to try and overtake me on the inside so I put the foot down again and left him looking like the idiot he was.

So now I've taken to playing with integra's, civics, bmw's and the like.... lots and lots of fun - although I can see how you could get into mucho trouble with either the law or a hedge/field/wall - I reckon it's back to my normal sedate driving with the odd well placed bit of fun!!!

Hehe, well your ex-gs is doing fine in Limerick :)
Dont like all the interest shown from the knacker kids though, can see them eyeing the nearby throwable rocks.
No room around here to go fast so I just impress everyone with the dual-exhaust noise, ps - good job there btw :)

Yea - I'm thinking of heading down to Powerflow in Mullingar to get a new zorst - this time I might go with single exit pipes on each side :p

Interesting indeed. Had a brilliant run in this morning myself. Coming onto the M50 from the Tallagh roundabout. Racing an Alpha 156 2.0l. Both stopped at the traffic lights (he was driving the crap out of it before then), I shoot off and move away from him to which he is not impressed but traffic gets in my way (from before the lights when green coming from another direction), he gets in front. We're both doing 85 coming down the slip road onto the M50. More traffic and I end up behind another FTO (black '95 KK reg).

Tries a few dodgey moves on the black fto so it just cuts inside and floors it past him. Absolutely brilliant. I unfortuantely got stuck in more traffic but was prob. just as well as I had my fun so better to relax at this stage.

Good times....

Getting those Beemers are fun especially when they try and pull away from you and you don't let them. :D
