Spoilerless Vs Nonspoilerless

I'm still of the opinion that the FTO is better off without the (old fashioned and usually crap) air con/climate control. Its 45 kgs of sh1te that is putting a load on the engine and affecting fuel economy and performance. The controls don't need to go btw - just the pipe work, condenser and cooling fan and bracket.

Also the FTO looks better IMHO without the OE spoiler when combined with the DC skirts although a front splitter (& lowering springs) would complete the look better.

Without a spoiler, the fto looks like a hardtop cabrio. The ass looks plain without a spoiler. I guess it's down to personal taste. I didn't know the aircon unit weighed that much!! Jaysus. Does the removal not affect the overall balance of the car?

If you take everything relating to aircon out then its not far off 45kgs - the heaviest part being the secondary cooling fan and bracket. Taking weight from the front of the FTO will only help its balance - its front heavy.

The FTO can look odd with just the rear spoiler removed and no other cosmetic bits added but when its lowered and with DC skirts and a front splitter the despoilered/delocked look can really suit the car.

I agree this this and got this done and looks alot better. It brings the car together. I think a diffuser on the back would be the next thing to square it off

I used to think the same goz but they look great in the flesh. I gives the FTO a kinda Fatt look to it and prefer spoilerless FTO now. I think there is one 2 in the club that have this done that I know of but im sure there are more.

I think I will definitely get the boot de-locked if I get her resprayed. I can't see myself removing the spoiler altogether, but who knows?

Slightly off topic....but is the blue fto on the home page my car by any chance? It's a bit hard to make out, but the spoiler and wheels look just about right. Just curious.

Thanks for the link Shane. Good snaps there. I am liking the double exhausts as i see em more and more. Is it pricey to get done?

Mine cost €523 delivered. Well worth it as the one that was on it was rusted to bits

About 600 yoyos if I'm not mistaken for blueflames. Or around that mark I think

I have a pretty nice exhaust on it already. Came with the first GR i got. Was moved to the other GR and now to the blue gpx. Would ideally like to get matching unit to retro fit if possible.

Maybe its a job for 2013.

Bare-arsed all the way.. but - as a minimum the car should be lowered.. if you just take a std FTO and lob the spoiler off it might a bit bald..

..those quads are the canines dingle-dangles - great sound, great looks.. If I was to say anything negative about them it'd be the routing of the 2nd set of pipes is a bit counter conducive to splitting the exhaust 50-50 BUT that would be complete nitpickery and nobody who actually has a set has ever complained about it..

Gotta agree with shane. I think the car looks a lot lower and wider with no spoiler

I suppose I will just have to have both. I have a spare bootlid that I will get de-locked, filled and sprayed when I am getting the full respray. I can then choose which i like best :) Although this may be some time away. Lowering springs are on the menu anyway.

I always meant to take the spoiler off mine just to see what it would look like, but I'd be afraid I might like it so won't bother.

Who owns the red one with black alloys?
Mine has the exact same dent on passenger side rear bumper.

What reg was it?
