Hi Guys,

I bought an S2k last week in the Uk and Im looking to get it undersealed. Can anyone recommend someone to do it- preferably in Munster but if not ill travel. Saw a link from Retro Cars (based in Dublin) and they said normal price for a small car was €275 (offer price was €140) that was from 2012 and for some strange reason he wants €600plus to do it!!! I think not! So if anyone knows of anyone else?

This is the sort of job you can do yourself at home but personally, I'd much rather pay someone to do it - its messy and awkward if you don't have a ramp. Mustangs effort a couple of years ago bears this out.

On a side note, I was looking at S2ks recently and very nearly bought one from the UK (VRT starts getting silly after 2002) but decided on something else a bit leftfield - to be revealed. Grace, would be interested to see a few pics of your new ride, I've always had a soft spot for the S2k.

Mine is a UK import CJ- i was the same with the vrt- thats why it had to be 2002 or older the vrt was just nuts on anything newer.

Wanted to just hand it in to someone to get it undersealed- no n=bothered doing anything that messy myself:)

The new baby!

600 is madness, even with the FTO-Ireland discount I secured.

I've asked can anything cheaper be done, and am awaiting reply.

I wouldn't touch him the a barge pole now. He had a chance to quote and tried to rip me off so no second chances. €275 is the quote I found from march 2012 online (for a small car) and now he wants 600. He can piss off. Getting a mate of Bernard's to do it now.

In fairness that was half price deal he was doing in 2012.

A friend of his reckons he won't budge but said I'd check anyway for you.

I got mine done last year for about €100. I got lots of stuff done though. Undersealing was just a part of the overall thing.

No, the €275 was the full price 2012 and he was doing it for €140 halfprice. So €600 is a total no go.
And here is the link........

Ive got another quote of €100 so ill be going with them- so no bother- gonna get it done over the summer. Loads to do first....upgrade alarm and stuff.

yes do tell, they seem to be salting the roads like mad at the slightest bit of frost and Jap cars really suffer due to this.

Have the name of a lad in limerick (awaiting contact details). Friend of mine at work asked around and she got a quote off a lad she knows of between 80 and 120 notes depending on rust. And I've informed mine has none so 100 should do it. I'll let ye know when I know:)

Based on a small car, with no holes, or rust underneath....

I find this pricelist very handy

That's crazy money so, I don't know how that price can be justified.

I await the details of the fella you've found, might get the new car done.
