Confused By Opie Oils Pricing

Postby goz_83 » Sun Apr 08, 2012 7:53 pm

I was just about to order a 25 litre drum of Motul 8100 X-cess 5W-40 fully sythetic, but the pricing is just not making sense. Am I missing something?

The price of a 5 litre bottle is £33.84, so 5 x5 litre bottles would cost £169.20. But a 25 litre drum is available at £186.30 (a full £17.10 more expensive than the cost of 25 litres ordered in 5 litre bottles). The same mistake seems to made throughout the page, so I must be missing something (or so i thought).
Then I checked the price if two 5 litre bottles were ordered. The SAVING is £1.69.
If you order four 5 litre bottles, you LOSE £7.54. See the link below and see for yourselves. £17.10 of a LOSS is crazy for bulk ordering. Is there something wrong here? I wanted to order in bulk for the fto and for the zafira, because it seems they can both take the same oil.

No. I figured it's the bank holiday weekend and that I might be missing something, so I wanted to ask here first.

What's the quality of Fuchs compared to Motul, or Castrol? I only want top quality stuff.

Oilman got back onto me. The price is right. It's just higher because it's harder to get the 25 litre drums. Thanks to me being vat registered, I now get ex vat prices. :)
