I presume this will be an over nighter :smt030, but what will we do during the day?

Only a month left lads, whats the plan so? Are we going for karting in Kilcornan with a few pints after? Maybe someone in Limerick would know about places to stay, Raheen is a nice handy way of getting to Kilcornan from either the Cork or Dublin road without having to travel through the city. After the karting could take a trip out past Askeaton along the coast towards Foynes, short trip but nice driving road. On the way back maybe take a detour through the tunnel and back to Raheen (or wherever people are staying) through the Dock Road, should all be able to keep together going through there not much to hold us up and its a straight run more or less without turnoffs back to Raheen anyway.

My name is on the updated list anyway, who else is coming along?

Must ask about days off soon. So is the day you're doing stuff gonna be the 4th?

You know Kilcornan have remote karts yes? If I am going, I'll opt out if it's raining, last time was a joke!

Guess who has a camera mount btw? Best time to do a tunnel run is at night.

I really don't think that Kilcornan is much of a step up if any on the new kart track and the new track is indoors. I know OI said it was poor but I've since heard from a few other heads that its not any worse than the indoor tracks in Dublin.
I may have to take a spin over there for myself and see what the craic is.

Good call, I'm easy either ways whether its indoor or outdoor. Maybe if we could get 10 people they might do some type of a rate?

I'm inclined to agree, with myfecinFTO, indoor would be preferable at this time of year, even if they havn't sorted out all the bugs yet.
I'll still go if it's outdoor and raining, but I think people will be more inclined to participate if they can stay dry.
Looks like 4th/5th is the winner.

If Delta turns out to be a no go then this is next door. http://www.tonsoffun.ie/ .I brought Bernard and Dragonheart there last Sunday and they had a ball running around.

Kilcornan Karting looks good from the outside. Its only a laugh anyway. The drinking activity is the main thing.

Guys need a place, activity, dining/drinking venue, if people are overnighting need a hotel, with decent parking -which will need to be booked soon enough as the Christams party season will be in full swing at that stage

Ive done a little search and: The South Court has tons of parking and is €64 for the night for a double room. All the other 'good' hotels that have safe and adequate parking are all over the €100 and most are closer to €150

Unfortunately the South court is way off the beaten track, so you'll either end up having to spend the evening there, or stump up for a taxi in and out of town.
Not sure what the taxi situation is in town now, but I'd prefer not to be looking for a taxi late at night with Christams party season in full swing.
Jury's are offering room only for €71.10 which is a better option IMO, even if the parking is extra. Would probably need to book a restaurant in advance -Christmas party season and all.

I felt guilty so I rang around a few hotels for prices. Don't have a clue where the hotels are, but they are in limerick...... somewhere :smt083

Absolute Hotel. (Sir Harry's Mall, Limerick
) - €99 +€10 B+B, parking

Jury's Inn. (Lower Mallow St, Limerick) - €88 B+B, parking

Marriott Hotel. - €135 B+B + free multistoring parking until 8.30 the next morning the €1.70 after

Sarsfield Bridge Hotel
. €79 + €5 B+B + parking same as above

Carlton Hotel Castletroy, (Dublin Road, Limerick) - €98 B+B + underground carparking

Greenhills Hotel, (Cahedavin, Ennis road) - €85 B+B + parking

Kilmurry lodge hotel (looks dodgy) €79 B+B + parking

There are a few ringing back with discounts but can't remember which ones, But in my view for quality for around the same price as the others, the cartlon might take it but it depends on location after all.

What you guys think?
