Tyre pressure?

Ok BIG debate going on in my house hold at the moment :x
I recon my tyre pressure should be at least 30
The EVIL boyfriend :wink: think's it should be at only 28?

Personally I go with the ol' 31 - 29, but that's personal preference. I think 28 is far too low!

There should be a sticker on the drivers door well indicating the recommended pressure

Wouldn't the pressure given on the sticker just refer to a car with standard wheels and tyres?

The pressure figure is a constant i.e. not wheel / tyre dependant.

By the way - it's generally 31 at front and 29 at the rear, due to the increased weight on the front end

I read somewhere it can be 30/28 (front/rear) or 32/30 for slightly better handling but harsher ride. I go with the 31/29 myself like the lads above.

For a long time I thought the tyre pressure was dependent on the tyres, but heard since it's dependent on the car. I guess there must be very particular specifications the tyre manufs must meet... or maybe its just where the extra few euro for the good tyres tell.

I'd imagine the major deciding factor is how much weight is on each axle.
