Cork regional meet organised apart from meeting time.
My suggestion for the full gathering is;
13.00 - Everyone meets in Killarney, probably the bus station / outlet centre car park as its the one thats got the most room. Its on the Cork side of Killarney.
13.30 - After acquaintantces made we strike off for the tunnel road, will be going out the main cork road and turing off to Kilgarvan, (the home of Jackie Healy Rae for those interested), and into Kenmare, or just by-pass it as thats possible too if we dont want to travel through it just yet. [60km, approx 45 mins]
On the way over the tunnel road may get the chance for some quick photos by the tunnel, or position someone on the opposite side with a video camera to get everyone coming through.
14.15 - Arrive in Glengarriff, stop in the garage for coffee, petrol, and a general stretch of the legs.
14.30 - Leave for Adrigole, theres a good road going up hill with an overtaking lane if someone wants to do a fly-by video.
14.50 - Arrive at the base of the Healy Pass. I suggest running someone up there to get a video of all the cars coming up, the whole pass can be seen from the top and I think it would make some amazing photos and an even better video!
Once we reach the top of the pass theres a layby or 2, we can pull in for more photos, some great ones overlooking the lake in the valley maybe, and if theres no cars around the shop at the top we might get ones looking over the pass.
15.30 (Approx) - Leave for Lauragh.
15.50 - Arrive at the B+B.
How does that sound? Shane feel free to throw your thoughts on that, you know the area too and if theres anywhere you think would be a good photo shoot spot shout, or if theres anything you think should change there.
One thing I will say is the roads are bendy and corners are sometimes tighter than you think and can come on you sudden, I think everyone should be aware that not all of us are used to driving roads like this so keep back a nice bit, (obviously not too far) from the person in front, just in case braking suddenly is needed.
Thats about all I have to shed on the subject!
Oh ya, Shane, we stopping off in the Sibin just before Lauragh?!
