The weather was horrendous today, I enjoyed the day but the persistant rain was a killer. I was glad to get out of Kildare and onto my couch (just in time to catch the hurling!).

We had a respectable show of well prepared FTOs that did a good job of selling the FTO Ireland message to the masses. I reckon the organisers should head over to one or two of the big UK shows to get a feel for how an event like this should be run, it wasn't a shambles per se but it was lacking on the organisation front. Better weather would have helped the atmosphere no end, theres always next year....

Yeah... pity about the the rain. Started just as we arrived, and seemed to stop as we were leaving. Just lucky, I guess :(

Me too was a great game saw most of the 1st 1/2 as for today a nice few turned up few old face's and some new, As for next year the rain would nearly turn you off going but sure that Ireland for you. Could be why we did not get alot of interest in sleek fx this year the only thing was you could go inside there.

"Rain stopped play" - thats all I can say. Drag stopped because of weather (and faulty/wet timing equipment).
I'll still be going to Sleek show in Limerick next Sunday though - if the weather is better then it'll make up for today.
There will be a lot more traders in Limerick this year (as theres no fee for traders) and as per JohnK a lot of it will be indoors (bar +Supermacs etc) - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10420&p=80144#p80144

You didn't miss much. The weather was crap. The organisation wasn't up to much really, I mean they couldn't clock up times for the drag racing because of rain??? In Ireland??? Everything was overpriced. You pay €20 in to exhibit your car and then are expected to pay €5 for the privilege of sitting in the stand  A luxury facility indeed... I've been in better cow sheds (and met better cows :) ). As for a bit of grub... the rip-off merchants were out in force! Heatwave was 100 times better, and no rip-off. Mondello should be avoided.

Having said that, there was a nice turnout of FTOs, so, good for the club. I enjoyed the company of everyone I met. Bottom line... I enjoyed the day, despite Japfest and Mondello, but was glad to get home for the match.

Rant over (been for a pint to get over Tipp's loss).

@Elaine Hope you get an early resolution to the pukey situation :)

Although the organisation could've been better, its was the rain really that made a bit of mess of the day. Was impressed with the FTO turnout though, still good to see everyone though.
Very disappointed with the drag though, and I will be making a call later to see if I can get my money back, and if I do I'll be putting my name down for Limerick.

Looks like a good turnout, big shame about the weather though....again! Ye should def get ye're money back for the drag, if ye didnt get what ye paid for then its a bit of a joke to take the full amount of ye. As we saw in Limerick last year the 8th mile doesnt suit the drag for cars and the rain of course throws practically any result out the window. Not a proper drag at all.
Ye must have left fierce early to be home in time for the match were ye??

Was just on to Sharon there at Mondello Park. To be fair, I didn't even have to ask for a refund, as soon as I told her I was in the drag competition she just asked if I'd like the refund via cheque or on to credit card.
Happy with that, other places would try and give you a run around for it. :ll
