Tow Bar?

Postby padidas » Sun Jan 18, 2009 5:44 pm

Been tidying up space in the garage.

Forgot I had a tow bar on the FTO when I bought it.

Anyone who's interested can have it for 30 quid?

Not sure if it'll fit any other Mitsubishi models....

emm..

not really sure to be honest? its was just bolted on if thats what you mean? Wasnt welded to the chassis or anything like that. was simple enough to take off.

i'll take a pic tonight if I get the chance, or after work tomorrow.

That looks like my old one.
If so it was designed to be removable, however the garage who put it on for me decided to weld up the removable bolt 'for extra security' ?? .
Never got around to removing the weld but I'm sure it wouldn't be too much work.

I got this one off nice and clean?

only a few bolts holding it onto the chassis, and the wiring needed to be disconnected...

The removable bit is just the tow bar part itself, not the entire setup. If you look at it closely you'll see that the ball part is designed to slide into the frame, with one or two bolts holding it in place.
In the picture it's the bit near to where plug is located for the brake lights etc.

Bought it to tow a lake fishing boat that I have, was fed up borrowing cars for the job. In the end I never actually used it!

Not sure about this but you could try ftolam13 for the rear lights. I got a passenger side off him a while back and he had some then. There is no harm in asking anyway. Either that or ask steelroe he's always got a car or 2 he's breaking.
