We'd be up against some high bhp cars but participation is whats important.

We will be in the 2.0 litre NA class and will be able to hold our own there.
The team thing (open class) will obviously be only for participation and promoting FTO Ireland - We're not likely to kid ourselves that we'll be able to compete with EVO's and Skylines.

How many do you need on a team?

I dont really have anything on my car that gives it any more oomf but you have to start somewhere...

Is anyone entering a car with that little bit extra???

Just out of curiousity - is everyone entering 1/4 mile driving a manual mivec? I'd be interested to see how a tip or manual GR would do.

ikeane - there shouldn't be much of a difference between a standard and modified FTO - in fact the best way to make an FTO quick on the 1/4 mile is to loose some weight - rear seats, spare wheel and tools, boot floor, carpets, any extra ICE, low fuel load and try and run on 16's rather than 17 or 18's.

I would have thought that it would be the other way around, especially at the sprint start from standstill ?

Nah - smaller diameter and lighter wheels is the way to go. Many of the drag cars in the UK run 15's with slicks. You need to keep the ratios as low as possible. I ran against two very similar spec Teg R's last year and the Teg R on 15's was significantly quicker than the car running 17 inch aftermarket (& heavy) alloys. Teg R's also have very low ratio gearboxes which also helps significantly - they are flat in 4th at end of 1/4 mile while the FTO Mivec is still in 3rd.

I ran with 17's last year - albeit they were lightweight forged mags - this year I'll run standard 16's with a lower diameter on the front. The rear won't make a difference.

Here's a thought...Maybe I missed it ..but are there any costs involved .signup fee perhaps?

i couldn't simply do that cos i'm running the brembo's so a standard rim wouldn't fit.
