Postby tonusmaxumus » Sat May 19, 2012 9:23 pm

Hi newbie here, bought a 1996 fto gpx tiptronic a few weeks ago its been on the road a few days, but today i cant get it into reverse or park, it has an aftermarket shifter fitted which the top button wont seam to press down all the way like it use too.
Ive tried removing the shifter but it doesn't want to come off, ive remove all the plastic trim around the gearbox to see if anything was jamming the shift everything seams ok.
PLease help.

On the factory one you pop the button off first then unbolt the shifter.

If its the same as mine you have to loosen the allen bolts around the push button. The inside pops out and then there's a nut underneath. Loosen that off and the whole thing comes off.
