hi new here and advice needed

Postby nairnman » Sun Nov 27, 2011 7:31 pm

i have a 96 gr with a veilside kit and some kind of aftermarket exhaust but not sure what it is. it has pipes on each side of bumper but the thing is its not loud enough. i have been offered a decat pipe for 25 notes or should i get the resonators (middle section) removed. which would sound best??? decat would give more power but not sure on sound. i will post pics once i figure that out. many thanks

Induction kit will get you an increase in sound levels - a decat certainly wont silence things either..

If you really want a load of loud noises..get a pipe made up with no mufflers on it..

A straight through exhaust will get you plenty of noise and a little bit of flame when it backfires on letting off the throttle at high revs. Sounds and looks amazing but dunno what itd be like to live with on a daily basis, can imagine it would involve bad headaches on long journeys and you would get plenty of attention (alot of it from guards)
The ONLY 95GR in shocking red with these specific faults.

No that's not a standard exhaust...
funny that somebody went through the trouble of getting a system made up and then didn't get it done in stainless - unusual as well to have the cat welded in - however not the end of the world - you can pick up 2nd hand ones from breaker cars for reasonable money - have a look on fleabay..

i think the last owner must have had cat taken out and welded in a straight pipe then it was too loud so wwelded it back in. i want it out or the middle silencer taken out for a bit more noise. i also want to get bigger chrome 4 inch tail pipe because whats on are like straws lol

Where you based?

I have a twin power-flow back section that I'll be looking to flog soon enough..other members (and the missus) can vouch for the loudness of the thing..

Any decent exhaust place would be able to make it fir whatever center section you have on there now - at present it's fitted to a mongoose mid section.

Thanks - those wing btw... some dousche is flogging them on eBay every once in a while, DONT be tempted..worst fit ever..Just plain wrongly sized - I'm going to have to get the front wings resprayed cause the guy that fitted them had to bond the "vents" into the wings - and now lets just say they need reinforcement...

DONT DO IT!

anyways to the exhausts.. I took a picture today while visiting the car..

I'm thinking 100gbp would be a good price, but let's check how much shipping comes to..
- I am open to negotiations like..
