Guys, I think I'm going to stick to the Show and Shine after all as I'm not 100% sure I can stay for the whole day yet and I don't want to be holding up the last place in the 1/4 mile on someone else if there is a chance I cant make it.

Also sleek sent me out my recepit for the S&S today so it's all getting a bit confusing at this late stage.

So would there be any other 1/4 mile takers.

Question for some of you guys who have ran before: What sort of times do you think one could get on the 1/4 mile, I'd like to think I could be pretty competitive if I lost a bit of weight and set the mivec timer pretty low.

Then again your probably going to be withing the mivec range for most the run bar the start anyway

You'll have a much better chance of getting away early from the 1/4 mile than the show & shine as you're pretty much barricaded into the arena untill evening in the Show & Shine while you can take off straight after the 1/4 mile otherwise.

That FTO of yours has run 15.1 sec 1/4 mile times though I do believe it has late 14's in it which would be very competitive for an FTO.

Don't mess with the Mivec Controller - the standard Mitsi mivec levels are the optimum - if you set the mivec lower you are just getting peak power earlier but pettering out at higher revs - if you set it higher then you'll drop out of mivec zone between gear changes.

Shane is right, for insurance purposed you cannot leave the show and shine until 6.

Well it turns out we are moving house.
Wasnt sure until now, I am going to have to bow out of it. Have the form filled out and was going to head up to SleekFX at lunch, but was waiting for the confirmation call. Expected him to turn us down, but he said yes.
Worst..timing...ever.

Its been lowered and everything. Bugger.

Yea when you set it a bit low it doesn't seem to have the same growl when you climb up the rev's.

Also I don't know where these guys get their figures but that was pretty fast for a N/A fto considering 14.45 was the fastest

I'm going to be on a strict diet now until Saturday seeing as Colm's asked me to quarter mile after all.

I just seen on the site that they need your NCT cert,
I hope this is the one on the window and not the actual full cert.
Anybody clued in on this?

Sleek FX just say this so that nobody turns up with a POS that they just pulled of a scrapheap. It won't be checked.

Meet in Birdhill on the Sunday morning somewhere around 0815 - 0830.
If you go through Birdhill and past the busstop you'll see a layby (old co-op on the right hand side of the road).

Guys Im really sorry but I have to cancel this
I had a small accident this morning: rear ended a woman who stopped at a junction with no one coming from either side (I noticed that but she didnt...) Anyway my fault completely so I ended up with: OS headlight smashed, bumper and hood dented/scratched. Ill put some pictures later today hopefully.
This after I spent 3 hrs last night cleaning the car on the exterior for the show (claybar, polish, wax)...
Her car didnt seem to have anything broken not even a crack bumper. Im curios to see what damages will she claim..
Anyway Ill start looking for parts now..

Let me know if I have to pay the reservation for the B&B

fella in a lorry slammed his brakes in front of me minutes ago as we were basicly in the middle of the junction with empty streets all around. good thing i was criusing at very low speed but had to slam the brakes as well.

really sorry,i was looking forward 2 meet. let me know if you're stuck for parts .

Thanks guys
Sebi, it was really my fault, I should have watched what the car in front of me does instead of assuming what it will do. It was on the route to my workplace for the last 4 years so didn't pay enough attention on the road.
Anyway this is my first accident and hopefully it won't cost me too much.
I took a picture but Ill put it in another thread.
