Not a bad little convertible - up there with a nicely sorted MX5 - Your FTO would be quicker (and better looking IMO) though.

Spotted a couple of these for sale in the UK recently..

A couple of grand will get you one in driveable condition..add another grand and you'll get a proper job..

nice little things if you ask me..

and

if you go mad with the mods they can be turned into proper litle race cars..

For a number of reasons, I'd have an MX-5 before an MR-S, nothing wrong with the latter though.

Nice enough, if a bit girly -not a problem for yourself :smt061 . My biggest concern would be the oil comsumption issue resulting in blown engines. If you are not familiar with same do a search. IIRC it's to do with inferior/wrongly spec'd piston rings, resulting in rapid oil consumption. Can be sorted by having new rings fitted (I think!).
All other things being equal I'd probably be more inclined towards a Eunos roadster RS. Widely regarded as the benchmark, bigger boot, etc

I (well my missus) had the Eunos 1.8 RS a few years back.
1000kgs, LSD, RWD, 6 speed box and 148bhp (plus it was on coilovers) was as much fun as I've ever had in a car (FTO & Zed inc).

God damn, gone off the market. Thanks for the input, and it was going to be a second car not a replacement!

S2000 in the future it is :)

You could always buy crank case's (from octane) MR-S. It's engine has already blown up, and been rebuilt, so shouldn't happen again I suppose.......
