what is this stamp on my FTO?

Postby StewyD32 » Thu Jun 16, 2011 2:39 pm

Was meaning to put this up ages ago, maybe some of the previous owners might be able to tell me.

The stamp is on the right side of the dash where it goes flush with the door.

Thanks guys. That's a nice little bit of history especially when it's from the FTO homeland.

Maybe we can bust a myth about all jap cars being clocked coming in.
Do you know what mileage was on the car when it came in myfeckinfto ?

I believe it had circa 110K kms when imported in 03/04 so that looks like its last service before it left Japan.
I really wanted a Manual GPX (had previously owned a Tip GR) and despite having higher than average mileage (at the time) - I went for it over the many Tips that were for sale in Ireland - at the time Manual Mivecs were indeed a rarer sight.

Came in with a dodgy stepper motor and the timing belt almost shredded but otherwise in good nick.

An early shot -

Not really a myth as far as Irish Import dealers are concerned - in my experience a very high percentage of imports (and even domestic cars) tend to be clocked.

Re front splitter - a DC would go well with the side skirts - it wasn't available at the time I stuck on that Topmix.
