rev count problems

Postby kira34 » Sun May 13, 2012 12:51 pm

Hi i own a fto gpx i have recently just had the head gaskets changed, but since then my rev cound has been playing up, it will work fine under normal driving conditions but if i put my foot down fast (or even if i dont) and i get to 5000rpm the rev counr starts bouncing rapidly up and down untill i release it

I have looked online and according to what i have seen i think the idle control valve or sensor that just needs cleaning, so is there any idea on where i can locate it ? And do you have any pictures

i would also like to poit out that i dont loose power or anything thanks

Have seen this issue a few times and in all cases it turned out to be the IFS
Ignition Failure Sensor
