I kinda like the wheels  I'm not usually a fan of the veilside bumper on the fto, but this car has the right stance and colour to pull it off I think the dark colour of the wheels adds to this

looks like a tasty V6. is it manual or tiptronic, Mivec? hopefully you'll get some pointers as to what to look out for.

Manual, mivec v6. Been around mitsi's for years and hopefully this will work out. Cant get insurance anywhere to cover me on it though so i think ill be breaking the car when i get it.

WTF this puts a new spin on it, can only go on the picture you posted but would be a shame to break a tidy example like that just because you can't get insurance let someone who can insure it have the pleasure of owning it!!

Ill have the car from saturday so it will be up for sale from then as complete but if there is no takers its getting broken.
I know it looks clean but its an english import and there is a minor rust issue but its nothing major.
Failed the nct on rear brake pipes but they will be fixed and there will hopefully be a fresh nct on it but that will only be done if some1 wants the car. no point in having an nct on a breaker.

Bad rust on certain parts of the chassis is a big nono.

Welcome, seems a shame to break it!

Welcome to the Club. Seems a shame to break what looks to be a nice car. The rust cant be that bad if it passed the NCT apart from the brake pipes.
Just an idea about the insurance, you could get insured fully comp (usually covers 3rd party driving of other cars, but check policy) on a smaller car and get a parent/older sibling insured on the FTO. You could then drive the FTO 3rd party.
I got insured on my mams 1.4 ford focus and had her insured as a named driver on my policy (didn't cost anything to have her on my policy). This entitled her to drive the focus fully comp as a named driver. I got her insured on the FTO TPFT and my policy covered me to drive the FTO 3rd party. Hope you can follow all that. Its not ideal but is an option. Only issue is that if my mam had an accident it would have affected my no claims, it would be the same for you if you did something similar. Oh and I still had to pay the difference in my mams insurance going from the focus to an FTO, still saved a small fortune though.

Never seen it either, but if its any good I sure as hell wouldnt be breaking it!! It looks to good for that!! Let someone else enjoy it if you dont want it instead of ripping it apart! Unless it is undrivable but if it passed an NCT I cant see it being that bad.

Well if somebody wants it, it's for sale from monday first €2500 take's. Ill get the nct failed work done and it will have a freash nct on it for that money or it will be sold for less if someone wants to do the work themselves. Was down looking at it last night and the rust is nothing major, a good clean down and a treatment of shultz would sort it out, only failed the nct on the rear steel brake lines, They are full of corossion so they need to be replaced.
Other than that its a nice clean car

i find it sad the way some fto's get verry rusty underneath and owners decide to break them  not saying yours is very bad steo84 :) ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ive read few stories about owners breaking there fto because of rust on the undie, i bougth mine with no knowledge on fto's, joined the club then and was very worried after reading posts on rusty chassis and suspension arms....... i was terrified to look under mine so i brought to a machanic (dad) very trusted :D lol and he gave me the good news on her, she's mint underneath phew..........so a note to any1 buying fto to get it checked by quailified machanic and you cant go wrong, or else you might be stuck with a donkey which requires lots of cash to fix r worse a car you cant shift but only break, as for insurance problems, god dont break her up sell her on to someone else who will have time to put her right.
