even us???

i must agree though, i'm trying to come off the trade policy i have and i'm getting ridiculous quotes, declaring mods except turbo as it's not in yet the cheapest i'm getting is coming in at nearly 2.5K which is mad money considering it's only a 1.8!!!
wonder what the equivalent lancer 1.8 would cost!! half that maybe?

looks like i'm going to have to look for some favours!

Friend of mine is saying I should get in touch with the Ombudsman..Might do that. Will sleep on it.

I know someone who did just this. He's 25/26 and is paying 1200 fully comp with QD on a seriously modded EVO VI - now that's a good quote! He went through a lot of grief for this though - he had full NCB with QD and literally fought QD to quote him - ended up going to the Ombudsman who ultimately forced QD to cover him at a reasonable cost.

Sorry Dave,
I should have mentioned that the ladies I spoke to at your place are BY FAR the nicest. Beyond comparison really.
Just a pity that the quote is just short of 3grand.

Shane-> Sounds pretty neat that..Hopefully I'll be able to get an angle on Hibernian.. that 5k quote they gave me is just ridiculous(.sp?).
Cheers for that nugget of info.

Britton should also get back to you - call them again. I found them very friendly and have been with them for two years. They will increase the excess as you ask them too also. This is how I saved about 300. Took 3rd party for the first time this year to stay under the grand. I am of course >30

Splitrimsracing isn't top of my priorities and with buying my house and work at the moment both me and Karl don't have the time to devote to it, so no need really plus i've decided that my car is worth more to me than cheap insurance that may cover me for high performance but if it ever got stolen or what not i'd only get trade prices which would see me loosing out on some serious bread!!

Hibernian

Postby IrishPhoenix » Mon Sep 26, 2005 1:56 pm

I originally got a quote for around 1500 with hibernian for fully comp. I then bought the car and they said they wouldnt cover it only for 3rd party!!!

I am with O'Driscoll and O'Neill brokers so they do a fully comp thingy once I had the 3rd party with hibernian. So it ended up costing me £500 less with this option than my original quote. Confused?? so was I.

IP
You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said 'Parking Fine'.

Did you get that in writing or over the phone? I got a quote for my Xsara originally when I bought it, verbal one, which was a fair bit better than anyone else at the time. When I bought the car and went to switch over they said they didn't give me the quote, so I forced the issue with them and insisted that they did, and got coverage with them at the price they quoted me.

There's a few examples of how pushing them brings results, although looks like you ended up better off afterwards anyway!
