Renewal

Postby Sebastian » Mon Feb 14, 2011 2:14 pm

Renewal came in and to our surprise it's down 160 eur from last year .

I suppose it's okay since most of the renewals lately are going up ...

Guys can you do us all a favour and quote the names of the insurers you are with so that we be armed with the right info at renewal time.

Cheers

I've the Teg with Aviva through a broker. Last year, I tried to insure it direct and I was told it was in too high a 'bracket' to quote. I had the car insured with them for 18months before I went to Nz but when I came home they said no way!! They also would never quote fully comp but the broker managed to get fully comp with them.

Its cheap and thats all I care about!

Setanta, got a good quote last year and they only have me down as 4 years NCB so I'm hopeful that next year will be lower again. Missed out on a year cause of NZ.

Excellent quote there alright - I am on full NCB, so I will be expecting a reduction this year so, although will believe it when I see it.

Mine went up by about €100, so I rang around, as you do. The next nearest quote was over €400 more, so I went back and quickly accepted.
Nice one though, it is good to hear they're not all going up.

had awful trouble last year getting a quote (nobody would quote me on it, except quinn at 1800euro or something stupid)... its up in 3 weeks. no renewal yet though. If its gone up with setanta (790) I will sell the car as I have a use of a second car, and just not prepared to be ripped off paying 800+euro fully comp. Im 31 and have 10 years no claims!!! WTF else can I do? s3x change maybe. :/
If Im getting rid of it, I'll offer it here first. just a combination of a few things, insurance, tax, petrol, and 28mpg..

Damn Bernard :( Thats a bit rough. Glad you got it sorted in the end!!! and it did not go up TOO much...
I'd be happy enough if its the same or lower. I'll update when I hear from them.
Last year AXA would not quote me, or AA, or anyone to be honest. Only the broker could get me the quotes.
Fingers crossed I get a favourable renewal quote.

I asked Quinn for a quote for fully comp but Woun't quote me for what I have the car and year valued at.

I also rang up pretending to be someone else to see if I could get a quote off the bat and got one for. €900. I don't know what the guys that can't get a quote with Quinn are telling them
