could my laptop be eating hard drives?

Postby colm_mcm » Tue Apr 27, 2010 1:55 pm

Have a HP pavillion and it had a hard disk problem (made worse by me powering it down every time it froze)
anyway there was an arror like hard drive error #1-04
swapped the hard drive with my other old Pavillion and a emssage came up saying imminent hard drive failure
ran a scan on the drive i'd just put in and the same error came up

did i just break another hard drive?

Its more likely to be a problem with the controller on the motherboard. HP are know for their rack of dodgy boards a few years back.
