Lowering Questions

Postby adrian » Fri Jun 20, 2003 11:26 am

Hi all,

I want to get my FTO GS lowered. I see alot of people on lists I am part of
have opted for the "High Quality Apex Lowered & Uprated Spring Kit " from
Camskill. That lowers by 45mm front and 25mm rear. But, what other mods do I
need in order to lower my FTO? Is it just the springs or do I need new drop
links etc? (I have recently fitted camskills uprated drop links at the
front). I have 17'' wheels.

Should I look are getting a front strut brace to compliment this lowering?
What else should I look out for?

Thanks as always,

Adrian

Also, been reading that a week or so after ou get the car lowered you'll need a Laser wheel alinment doing at a cost of about £50 sterling in the UK. Anywhere in Dublin do this sort of thing?

Hey Adrian,

One thing about the lowering springs for a GS - they won't lower the front as much as they should cause they are designed with the V6 engine in mind which is heavier. I got some Apex springs and the drop at the front is more like 30mm than 45mm - that's why I was considering getting a full kit - shocks and springs cause then the drop would be more like the 45mm you want at the front - Camskill do a koni kit that they reckon is the dogs - only 350 sterling.

anyhow enjoy no matter what route you go - it makes a big difference.... and the grin factor is second to none when cornering!
