What next?

Postby StewyD32 » Tue Jan 01, 2013 2:40 am

I'll be hitting OZ in the next few days and was wondering what motor to get next.
So I narrowed to down so a few:

1. The beloved FTO.
2. Galant VR4.
3. Evo 6.
4. GTO.

Im leaning heavily on getting a GTO MR model (twin turbo VR4).
Any suggestions, pros or cons

So based upon that list petrol and running costs don't seem go be a consideration for you ? Or are they?

That list is a far cry from that hideous rental you're sporting in NZ :smt005

Aus is a great country to run an FTO and they'll def have held up better in the Aus climate.

One thing you are going to find though is that while new cars are cheap in Aus - 2nd hand cars really seem to hold their value. So don't expect Irish prices for any of the models you suggested.

I've driven all of your suggestion list but tbh I'd just go for whatever is in the best nick for the money - although an Evo 6 will def be the quickest out of the box.

To be honest no. After REGO (registration) and RWC (road worthy certificate) I'm not to bothered what else its costs... unless its something outlandish like the road tax back home in Ireland.
I still need to see about the cost of insurance.
Actually i couldn't find any info on road tax in australia but i think it is the Rego... anyone know.

I've been researching the prices and there are some huge price differences for the same car, year millage etc.
Im keeping an open mind and will see when i have the money in my pocket what i'll set my eyes on.

Was going to a silvia S15 into the mix as well
