Thats been sorted, theres a 1.6 engined TIVCT in the driveway, its surprisingly nippy and handles well for an everyday box but I digress....

Somebody has correctly identified the make of the mystery car already, if you can pick the right one and match it up with a model then you could win yourself a fanbelt off a 1985 Opel Rekord.

Lights are too high above arches for it to be a sports coupe.
My guess is its something along the lines of a Subaru - maybe a Tribeca or a Forester or an Outback.

Have to say though I am surprised I don't know what it is with that much of the car showing.

Is it jap or euro?

I think it's the front of the car judging by the lense colour. Not enough red to be a rear lense. The line between the wing and bumper suggest it's not a Forrester or any of Subaru's cars for that matter. But I'm not an expert so I may be wrong.

Could be clear lense rear lights, like a Lexus or something. Just cause the lights aren't red I wouldnt dismiss them as rear.

Well just to clear things up...

I bought the BMW. Picked it up this evening. Very chuffed! It's damn clean and driving home I got MORE than 20 miles to the gallon. Closer to 50 :)

Congrats on the purchase. I had the car previously and really enjoyed it, and CJ has made a few subtle, but tasty mods. Well wear.

This pic is starting to wreck my head now. Really well cropped to show a lot, but still have us scratching our heads. Good game though. :)

Initially, I focused on DSG but decided against it as an option on the basis of reported failures rates of current revision boxes, the fact that I don't change gear all that much on the way to work and the increased cost of purchase and emissions (i.e. VRT and tax).

Its an 8 months old CR TDI, in great nick and is a joy to drive, the 85 mile spin back from Chester to Holyhead was a pleasant experience. The dealership (largest Skoda dealer in the UK) were excellent to deal with, they really know how to do customer service, Irish dealers could learn a lot from the Brits in this area. The place was jammers at 10am yesterday morning, they offer to wash your car for for life (assuming you've bought it from them). Theres 16 months left on the 2 year European warranty which is some comfort, Skoda Ireland have confirmed they will honour the same.

Sounds great, hired out a dsg in Scotland before and was shocked at how fast it was, could 100 mph on the highlands (private track, like) and was completely settled and comfortable at that speed, unlike say an IS220d that I would have been used to at the time.

Best of luck with the new jammer, nice colour too.
