Lads.... I had a guy at my door today. Gave me a note telling me that the Carlow stage of the Rally is going to pass right outside my door, on 12th May.

I'm going to set up a few video cameras (yes I own a few..!) and see if I can capture a crash or two..

Anyone who fancies coming down and having a ringside seat, is more than welcome..
I've enough parking for a good few cars as well..!

My very first FTO meet was a similar one out at Bernards. I'd be on for this.

Might be interested. Dates and details will go down well for planning. Bring your own seat and stuff. How long is the action on for? If it's a full day, a cold beer or two might be ok? We don't want to be encouraging anyone to be irresponsible though. Visit www.DrinkAware.ie

I'm sure gfalls can put up a list of b&b's in the area for anyone that would want to be booking in.
The one we had at Bernard's was a great day, it's a great idea for a meet for anyone that could make it. Once gfalls doesn't mind a troupe of cars of course invading his privacy!

MK II Challenge is also held on that day, they are nearly better to watch than the newer rally cars

Up to now, all I know is that it runs from 8am to 6pm. Not sure if the road will be closed for all of that time or not.
I'll know nearer the time, as the organisers have promised to keep the residents informed well ahead of the day.

I'll find out about B&B's if anyone needs them. I've a fair bit of room for parking, and there's always the neighbours' drives as well. They won't mind.

You might need to bring folding chairs and the like. And ya own beers (I don't touch the demon alcohol myself). I'll supply tea & coffee for everyone though..!
Could possibly arrange a BBQ if the weathers kind on the day... Start praying for a bit of sunshine...LOL

Oh... And there will probably be some of www.alfaowner.com lads coming as well. So, play nice, and no fighting/slagging...

They don't break down any more often than any other marquee..! Honest..

Electrical gremlins, on the other hand. Now that's a different story.. Its like a lottery every time you get in it, as to what will be working or not... All adds to the fun though..!

True. Alfa got their wires crossed with their aviation and road car contracts. Sometimes when you press the ciggy lighter, the ejector seat is activated. Not good for the hard top road cars

Ha ha priceless how a thread about a day out turns into an alfa-slag-athon.
Alfas are like the quiet unsocial kid in school, you hate slagging him cause hes actually a decent kid that means well but you know he wont slag you back.

I'd say Alfa owners know well they're gonna get some slaggin. I know I'd expect it and that wouldn't put me off buying one. Looking forward to seeing the Alfa's at the meet actually. Joint meets (Rare Jap, FTO/Celica and FTO/S2K/DC5) have all been great!

I'm on my second Alfa now (3rd if you include the 166 donor I have outside). A few of you seen the first 166 I had. Nice machine.
I've now got a Spider. Different animal altogether. Feels like you're doing a ton at thirty, when the top is down.
Nice sound off it as well, when you get the revs up. Sticks to the road like glue ..

Not everyones weapon of choice, I know. But, don't knock it till you've tried it...
