Why Ciaran ? - I keep my motorweb account active and don't post that often, surely if people have shown the interest to register they may post sometime ?

Well, there were a number of accounts going back 6 months or more that have never been used, I would like to think that the number of people who have joined up to the forums represents an unoffical membership. IMHO, it kind of defeats the purpose of joining up if you're not going to post, after all, you don't have to be a member if you want to meerly view posts.

Thats my slant on it anyway but point taken :)

People are probably just a touch shy and building themselves up over time before taking the big 'first post' plunge :r

Absolutely, I agree. As mentioned in the original post, I deleted members that had not posted once and had joined pre August'03. We'll give people two months to post and if not, then the a/c is deleted. The new 'Introduce yourself' forum should be a good medium for people to break the ice so to speak.

BTW, I think you used that smiley out of context, take a good look at it and you'll see what it actually stands for ;)
