Right thats it! im throwing in the towel...

Postby padidas » Mon Jun 16, 2008 10:51 pm

Does Anyone out there have any idea where i could get some kind of "reasonable" quote on a GPX? i have the cash to actually get one now and was all set to buy one in the next two to three weeks... but having been told by my insurance company (Quinn of all people) that my quote will rocket up to a little over 2K for the year, i'm understandably having second thoughts...

Stats - 21 year old, Full Licence, 1 year with Quinn NCD (my own policy), 3 years named on my mothers policy before that with Allianz Direct.

How the hell can anyone my age nearly afford that kind of price?? thats almost half the price of the car!?

Anyone ANY suggestions.. i'd be seriously greatful....

thanks,
pad

They're lying... :?

Im 21, 0 NCD, 3 years under mothers policy, Full license.

€1368 F.C incl declaration of mods. You have 1 years NCD so should be cheaper, try the quote online.

Have the car classed as an FTO GPX Mivec btw

Hope to actually own one this week.

So take a firm hold on that towel :D

I can't get my head around Quinn.
I'm 30 with a full NCB and a full (clean) license since 2001 and they won't quote me

That said, I did get fully comp. with NCB protection for €660 from Britton so I'm not too worried :D

Uncle B how did you get that quote? I tried online and they wouldn't give me a quote at all!! Fair enough I have 1 year driving experience on a provisional licence but they don't ask that for some reason... I can't get a quote anywhere except for E2190 from Quinn. That's too high. If I can't get a cheaper quote in the next 10 days....bye bye GPX, hello sensible 1.4l car I don't want! :(

you sure thats a GPX?? think the manual option adds more too...

basically what happened to me with quinn as it is at the moment is, i've had the policy on my 1.4 with them for a year, and now the year is up, they discount my Named driving experience, and therefore im down as having 1 years NCD with them, actually made the quote on my 1.4 go up from 1100 to 1350!

only way i can think of trying it is when my insurance goes up i just stop using my car and sell it than start all over again with these thieving bastards online and put myself down as 3 years named driving again... may or may not work... but i have no other real options other than to pay up, or move company to another that will charge me more than quinn anyway!!???!?

my insurance is up on the 22nd... im actually going mad.. :(

cheers,

^^ Its listed as FTO GPX MI-VEC so yep its a GPX :)

Ring them up, say you have both named driving experience aswell as 1 year NCD.

I put 1 year NCD instead of 3 years named and it went to €1481.26, I'd say its a bug because it should definitely be less.
