I paid 1400 for TPFT with windscreen cover on an FTO GPX with Quinn Direct two days ago.

I'm only 22, so I'm delighted!

Nope, new customer. Was with FBD for the last four years, and they clearly didnt want me driving an FTO, so i switched to Quinn, and was delighted with the quote!

I've my '94 GR up for sale at the moment (http://www.fto-ireland.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=12143) and have had half a dozen very interested in it. All had to back out as they couldn't get insurance. Quinn wouldn't quote them. I'm wondering is it down to the year of my car. What year is yours?

Were you quoted as a new customer or did you already have a policy with them?

Did ya not say that you were in fto club and ya personally knew about 10 people insured with Quinn.... I wonder how they would have explained that when they just said they didn't insure ftos 2 seconds before hand.

They just reply with the same answer. They're like robots, they don't see what you're after saying unless its written in their little handbook in front of them. I think it was Colm who tried swapping the insurance from his FTO to another one and they told him they dont insure them, even though he was insured with them already with his own FTO. They're a special breed those people.

They sure are.
As I said in a different insurance post they tend to take a different attitude to ya if you go there in person

They wanted 978 off me for tpft this year so i didnt insure the car with them. Reason being it goes up every year i've been insured with them by at least 100. I'm 29, 8 years ncb and full licience
The reason they say they dont insure fto's is down to it being new business quotes, they only insure you if your already a policy holder and change to an fto. So i've insured my mams focus with 123.ie and will change over to the fto in a month or 2.

I forgot to tell ya's. Went into Quinn to see if there was a difference in changing my policy over from a GR to a GPX. while I was there I told them I was in this club and there are a few of us with Quinn but many other members ring up and they say you don't insure FTO's. Then I asked them what's their policy on this.

"we insure all FTOs provided the person is over 21"

..... Yeah right :smt021

There's no way I would have thought you could get a quote for an FTO on the web.

Could be the start of good things
