2.5TT engine.
6 gears instead of 5, theres a feeling of one missing between 4th & 5th.
Rear wheel drive.
Smaller steering wheel. The one on the DC5 is lovely and small and feels like you barely have to turn it to get a good swing, the FTO feels just a bit big.


Apart from that I'm good. Already have the Recaros, white dials, RalliArt exhaust, 17" alloys, light up door cills, lowering, and a few more things that make it that bit more enjoyable in my eyes anyway.

Have you thought about a Supra... 3.0LTT rear wheel drive, 6 speed and it looks like an FTO.

Mitsubishi already thought of this and built the gto!

Then there's the toyota Supra which can be had for peanuts.

I don't know why people can't accept an fto for what it is.

Ah the risk of giving him a big head, I'd have Bernard's car with evo Recaro's and a quad exhaust. I would love if it had RWD (no point putting much more power to the front IMO), but I can't imagine ever justifying the price of a conversion. But a clean, black, lowered, facelift with quad exhaust... Mmmm, you never know..

It's a shocking double standard I know!
I'm probably a bit of a purist with ftos now! Had an arguably stupidly modified bright blue one to start with and ended up with one that was really subtle but far superior.

Next I'd like a totally standard time capsule quality low miler late facelift, but at the same time, I'd love the experience of cutting a rough fto up and transplanting the running gear from a 4wd monster.
More for the fun of it rather than buying one with the work done!

My car already fullfills most of what I want in an FTO.
Facelift manual mivec, rare (and desirable) colour. 17" wheels.

I'd like the following (mainly boring comfort related changes).
A 6 speed gear box, with 6th just above where 5th currently resides with the rest of the ratios more closely packed together. The existing gear ratios are more suited to autobahn cruising than back road hulliganry (not a real word!)
Leather interior, including a leather cover for the centre storage bin.
A bit more colour and flare to the dash instruments -without looking like tacky aftermarket stuff NOI.
Proper radio reception like they have in normal cars.
A proper rust proofed and undersealed body.
Less clunky suspension with droplinks that would last more than pissing time.
A stylish spoiler design that wouldn't make the rear view mirror redundant.
Better interior lighting.
A one touch, one wipe spring back setting on the wipers.
Bigger brakes.

One of those go faster buttons on the steering wheel like they have in the Fast and Furious.

White manual GPVR no body mods or major engine mods but 4wd would be great coupled with uprated everything on handling/brakes.
Low, Loud, insane handling.

Not worried about it being any quicker than it is.
