Getting desperate now...... even looking to other cars

Postby soc » Fri May 02, 2003 6:43 pm

Can't find any nice manual GPX (or even a nice tip GPX) that's held by a dealer so I'm actually thinking of changing cars to a different make - curretly the list includes a Golf GTI 1.8T and a BMW 318/320ci. I'd prefer a nice GPX but I really want something that feels new and solid........ and there ain't a lot about.

Shane, if you really want a manual GPX, hold out, you'll get one eventually. Why not consider having one imported? AFAIK, Jim Rock Motors, for example, can import to order, why not give them a shout to find out? You should have a look at some of the online aution sites with a view to doing the legwork yourself.

Personally, I'm not a Golf fan, theres loads of them on the road, the same goes for Beemers but eyeryone to their own. Why not stay Jap and test drive a Teg Type-R or a Supra?

Good luck!

yea i thought about this alright - thing is I need to either sell my car or use it as a trade in. I suppose I could call art at jim rock motors and see if I can get a manual GPX (or even GPvR) imported and then when it arrives do a deal on trading my GS in....... now that's definitely worth a call!

excellent - that's cool. Sounds like they're pretty ok when it comes to sorting a price via contacts. are you going for the 2xsingle 5"?

one thing to remember when you're there - the exhaust will get louder over time (as the baffles get coked) so if you don't want it too loud they you should get something pretty quiet which will get louder in time... mine is a bit louder now than when I got it done.

Thats what we want to hear, discounts for dropping names. At the end of the day, they're getting free advertisement so its good to see they're giving somthing back.

yea, one of the guys there is really keen on them - he's gonna like yours a lot! tell him if he's looking for an FTO to give me a call.... :)

unfortunately some idiot decided it would be cool to stand on the left tailpipes on mine so now they hang a big lower than the right side.... I might take a spin down there again and get it fixed up and maybe get some different pipes..... I quite fancy the BMW M3 pipes now......
