OK, got my ISO single DIN size radio. I wanted exactly *that* model, could not find it here so I got it from eBay. Got also my PC2-46 (or whatever it's called) adaptor.

Now how am I supposed to fit this

into this?


Do I have to buy some sort of fascia adaptor that allows me to safely screw the single frame over it?

I used to love DIY, when I was a boy with little responsibilities and a lot of free time.

I'm not sure but you could be missing the radio adapter brackets...

You can remove the center piece to the console - it just kinda clicks in - be careful though as the thin bits have a habit of breaking just pull it gently around where the radio is supposed to slide in.. that'll give you a better view of the situation..

Thanks for the replies! Right after posting I was so fed up that I went to that "auto care" shop in Blackpool shopping centre (on the right before entering Dunnes stores) and I asked them to fit the radio.

The guy came, saw the situation, then shamelessly forced the ISO fitting frame in, checked that the radio was working and took 30 quid for the 5-minutes job.
To my great surprise, it did actually fit that way, and it seems stable enough.



I'm still astonished for how simple it was and for having assumed that the frame would have never fit that way.
I think I'll buy the brackets and get a proper fit, but for now it will stay like that.

Sory to post but the word "Ripped" comes to mind 30 euro for holding the radio and placing it in lol, i doubt they even screwd it in!! because as stated above fixtures were missing, if i was you id order the fixtures then it just a matter of screwing them to the side of the radio in the holes then screwing the unti into the dash, its anotehr 5minute job but that means your radio is secure!!,

If your happy with the way they did it leave it but surely its not fixed down tight! so to speak, the Jap system in the FTO doesnt seem to use the sleave that goes around the radio for quick release by the way;)

I dunno, the job looks as tidy as fitting a DIN sized stereo into a slightly-wider-than-double-DIN sized hole can be.

Has the same issue some time ago, I used cable ties to lock the stereo surround in place and made sure that the stereo clipped in securely. Not pretty but functional.
