Ebay searches

Maybe someone (Janus?) could explain this to me.

I had a look today on Ebay.ie for "FTO Spoiler" with my preference set to worldwide, I got seven results.
Then I tried the same search with the same preference for worldwide search on Ebay.co.uk and got 47...

Is there something simple that I'm missing?

I think Bernard alot of the shops or sellers worldwide wont send to ireland
Or just disregard it as a smaller populated country when there placing there ad but have no problem selling to the larger uk market
I always do all my searching on ebay.co.uk,, ebay.ie doesnt hve half the amount of stuff on it

I use the uk one as well or the .com one, I find the same, the irish one is pretty shocking when it comes to looking for stuff. I think Donedeal is after taking over the market in Ireland so ebay isn't used as much domestically anyway. But for items out of Ireland its worth using the uk one and just asking about shipping.

I seem to remember an article a while back about this. I would have thought if you looked ebay.com that it included every item on ebay, but apparently not.
I use .com and .co.uk all the time , never ebay.ie

I also find that ebay.de is very good for automotive. Need to translate the stuff though :?

Yes .. the segmentation had begun around the time when I left their employ.
When I search for Items I do a few distinct searches.

www.eBay.ie
www.eBay.co.uk
-
www.eBay.com
www.eBay.com.au
www.eBay.de

If you find that you're lookign for something specific you can do a "saved search" which will inform you whenever items are listed that match your criteria..another thing to keep in mind is that if you look into the shipping options under "advanced search" you can define "items available to Ireland", which sometimes helps sorting out the dross that dont ship outside their home turf.

Also..

sometimes you can find items using the GOOGLE search engine that aren't otherwise available to you through the eBay search..(Example: http://www.google.co.uk/#q=purple%20hel ... 046d&hl=en)

Personally..Many of the items I purchase these days can be found on Amazon... AND keep in mind that some items are available in general retail also..
