I would imagine that its to avoid having to compete with Japfest.
Better chance of a drier day for the 1/4 mile so it suits me just fine.

It’s that time of year again, “The Custom & Performance Car Show 2010” is back and it’s bigger and better than ever.

Following on from the enormous success we have over previous years, Sleek FX wanted to focus this year on genuine car enthusiasts. With that in mind we have added some new and exciting attractions. We will of course have all the usual events that have kept you coming back in your thousands for the past five years.

Toping the bill is "King Of The Ring" where over forty cars will compete in one tyre shredding skills competition. Have you got the skills to snatch the title this year????

For those of you addicted to big bhp and terminal top end speeds, enter the "Sprint Strip". Broken down into ten different classes, we will determine who the fastest driver is on the strip. Everything from Civics’ Evo's, Skyline's, Supra's, and Cosworth's will blast down the tarmac! How fast is your car?

In addition to the "Sprint Strip" we will of course showcase the "Website Battle" pitching your very own car forums against each other. Here a five car team battle it out for the lowest combined time. Of course it’s down to you the members to support your favourite forum and put your cars forward to compete on the day.

For the proud and the polished why not enter the “Show and Shine” for cars that have been built through sheer imagination, dedication and the will to be unique, and because this is all about you and your car, this year we have opted for cash prizes. So why not enter now to secure your place. If you dare to be different then this is for you.

To cater for those wanting more performance and aftermarket modifications there will be lots of different trade stands in our trade village for you to browse through. Here you can drool with envy at the latest body kits and up to date technology for your car.

Our latest attraction to the show is the Road Safety Authority interactive shuttle. Offering educational advice and there to answer all your questions. Also, a first to the show is the Official Red Bull Skateboarding Park and a free kids play area

So if you’ve been to the show in previous years then you know what to expect and we will see you there, for those of you that have not yet joined us! you now know what’s on offer and we guarantee you wont be disappointed.

The staff here at Sleek FX are on hand now and look forward to taking your entries. Together we aim to offer you an exciting & exhilarating experience which promises to be bigger and better than previous years! The venue is Limerick Racecourse on July 25th!!!!

See you there!

The Custom & Performance Show 2010.
This years show is on 25th July,Limerick Racecourse.
Fun kicks off at 10 am.

Rules and regulations:

Club stands:
3 free cars + driver for the stand
2 free staff for the stand
The best stand comp will be judged on the three cars only and not on the size of the stand or the quantity of cars in the stand.
You are allowed to enter more cars for the stand @ 10 euro per car and driver. These cars will be entered for the show and shine competition only.

King of the Ring:
We have returned to the old style comp this year. Single car in the ring at a time. With this in mind we have only 42 places available and these will fill very quick. Dont be disappointed, get in there early. No limit on the spec of car.

€30 entry fee for car and driver

¼ Mile
The classes will be same as every year n/a and turbo, 2 wheel drive and four wheel drive and also split up into engine size.
Club ¼ battle teams will be made up of 5 cars, any 1 car can not be anymore then 570 bhp. Team members must be current registered members of the clubs they represent. All teams must be entered before the day of the comp.
The timing this year will be done by Sideway's racing and at the end of your runs you will get a print out of your reaction time, 60 ft time, 1/8 mile time, ¼ mile time and terminal speed. Sideway's racing are a new addition to the ¼ mile this year and with there professional attitude and equipment this is going to enhance the comp.

€50.00 entry fee for car and driver.
Out of the entry fee we will take €5.00 and put it in a prize fund which will be given to the car with the quickest reaction time of the time.

Show and Shine:
All entries must be paid in advance. All entry forms must have pictures of the car attached. No pictures, no entry.

Centre display Area:
We are putting four club stands in the centre area this year. These spaces will have to be applied for and when all entries are in will will drawn four clubs from a hat. This will be done in front of club rep's so that there will be no cheating taking place.

Any other questions ?

Isn't this a bit to early this year?

I don't think the date suits me this year as I'm away that weekend.
Who's going?

Well if I'm available I'm definately in anyway, I know theres a lot of tripe there sometimes even though theres all the 'rules' about sending in pics and stuff, but I have a soft spot for the show as it was my first FTO-Ireland meet and first time putting my car in a show.

I like your thinking Elaine! That would be a good idea. Would also be a good opportunity to shine the cars up with not far to travel after to the show.

I was thinking about heading down for the 1/4 mile, but it doesn't look like the dates will suit, so I'm out. :(

I was talking to Mike in Camskill this morning, my parts should be here by the end of the week.
Assuming all goes well, I'll definitely be going.

Here ya go - http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t50/ ... 2010-1.jpg
I can talk to Peter and see if we can bring them along on the morning with payment as per last year.
Once we all go in as a group (as allways) there shouldn't be a problem.

Had hoped to do a BBQ/Tech meet at my place but Maria is very heavily pregnant and won't be far off popping so it'll have to be a quieter affair. Can arrange accomadation in the usual place for peeps who are travelling if they wish.
