Bumper Spray. Recommend place in Dublin?

Postby goz_83 » Wed Oct 05, 2011 12:19 am

I'm looking to have the facelift bumper sprayed. I need to tidy up some marks and a crack at the bottom first, but I am keen to get it sprayed soon. I want it done properly too, as the bumper on it now is a different shade and that kinda thing annoys me. I assume it would be better to keep the bumper away from the car until it is sprayed, so i won't have to leave the whole car with who ever does the work? Then again, i have a bit of a crack in the panel behind the passenger door, which I would like repaired and painted too, along with a few little chips here and there. Advice and recommended places appreciated. I am northside i am aware of carcraft, but would like to find somewhere less costly if possible. If that's what I am to pay, I will bite the bullet, but this will make the bumper the most expensive addition.

Leave it with the car, that way they have no excuse when the colour doesn't match.

Good point. So....any recommendations for me guys?

Unrelated side note : I just spent €350 on materials to repair the roof in the side access to my home....That could have bee leatherette seats :(

With respect, the job they did on a site members green facelift bumper was shocking.

I got auto smart systems to do the bumpers, quarter and skirts on mine.

Sorry about all the pics, working with my phone

Yeah I saw it in the flesh. Not pretty IMHO. I will look into auto smart. Thanks colm. Other recommendations welcome.

That's the way it came in from Japan. Less noticeable in real life.
The job involved (as already stated) was on bumpers, quarter and skirts. Not on wings/bonnet

Don't think theres any real regulation in CF panels is there? Look at the Koeninsegg CCX-R, thats fully CF, saying that I would imagine that the engineering behind that is a whole lot different to the run of the mill stuff.

EDIT: Just checked it up and theres actually reinforcement sandwiched between the CF and the kevlar that makes up the body, so anyone making road legal cf panels would probably need the same type of manufacture. Also it would probably need to be engineer tested to be road legal if being declared.
