Guys, see transcript of a mail I received below, I'd like to gauge interest levels from a participation perspective, if we can get a min of 5 cars together then I feel it would be worthwhile.

Hi
My name is Derek Butler and i work for a company called Xtreme Promotions. This is the press release for our latest event, we would like to invite you and your club to this event on the 26th. You and your club would have space for your cars inside the show and drivers would get free access to the show.
I would appreciate if you could contact us back and let us know whether or not you would like to attend.

Kind Regards

Derek Butler

Can you insure them to cover my FTO when I forget to brake at the first hairpin?

CJ - I'd be very interested in going if there was an FTO group organised.

I'd like to be included if there's enough going to make an impression as a club. We should either do it in force or not at all. Not much point having 3 guys turning up in FTO's as the Irish FTO Owners Club. We'll need at least 8-10.

I wouldn't worry about modifications Joe - its the FTO Ireland club - not a modified car competition - You'd like people to be able to recognise the cars as being in a club rather than a load of wings, spoilers and flip paint jobs.

Count me in CJ!

Is anyone else interested in this event? I need to back to the organiser sooner rather than later, unless we've a bare minimum of 5 cars, I can't see it being worthwhile.

I'm not really into the whole ( 1 litre) punto/corsa with 17"s wide bore exhaust, lexus lights, etc type scene.....of which there will be many at an event like this but....

I'm with Joe 90 on this, anyway it's not clear that we are being asked to participate in that aspect of the event.

Any more takers for this one?
Following on from the Dublin (centre of the universe) v Rest of country/world (culchies) debate initiated between CJ and Myfeckinfto (see hydraulic press -bush fitting in technical quiries forum), I thought I'd throw in my two cents worth
If Myfeckinfto and MY feckin' FTO can both make it up from Shannon to Mondello, then surely we can get more than just one Dub (CJ) to attend, given the proximity of mondello to Dublin and the relatively high density of FTO ownership inside the pale.

I am officially throwing down the gauntlet 8)

CJ do you have a deadline for confirmation of attendance :?:

OK, I think we'd be wasting our time turning up to put 4 cars on show, are the people named still willing to go to Mondello for the day to check the event out? I wouldn't expect the Clare\Limerick lads to come up just to see the event, c'mon Dubs get your act together! :)

CJ,

I was prepared to give up my rugby match on the 26th of September to participate in the Show - but I would have to give the rugby priority over just going to have a look. If the match date changes then I'd certainly go.

Thats not a problem MFFTO, on the basis that the turnount is going to be lack lustre at best, it probably won't be worth the trip....

Agreed. Pity though! Just a thought.... but for anyone trying to sell their FTO, this would have been a good stage to display on....a few thousand petrols heads around and a FOR SALE sticker on your windscreen....can't be bad product placement!
(Recently there were two FTO' in the B&S described as being owners club cars....one of which was Shane's I do believe).

Anyway, I was happy enough to attend to fly the flag for FTO Ireland, but not sure about going for the hell of it. I'll let you know CJ.
