25th would be better for me as I'll be at the match on the 24th plus you'll have 82,000 extra people on roads that day for Croke Park match.

I was going to say that we should probably try to avoid the match..

...Cause Dublin will be Jammers...

So what's the big plan - we go through the tunnel - book into B&B and go on the lash?

Right then, how about Sunday morning the 25th? We can organise the 'big plan' (what big plan?!) nearer the date.

Hey guys, don't forget to take a good camera with you, and if CJ could write a piece we could include it as an article in the next edition of the FTO News.

Absolutely JJ, it would be good to get an Irish feature in the mag.

Guys, we're gonna meet up about 10 miles up the M1 off at the Julianstown exit, The Bull suggested it to me so I'll let him explain the location.

Any suggestions for a city-side activity (bearing in mind the lack of cheap parking)?

How about a fantastic photo opportunity for the club on Dollymount beach - acres of open space and great views over the sand and sea ?

Guys, had tink about where to meet up and a pow-wow with CJ, a good spot, with plenty of hard shoulder and not much traffic would be just off the M1 at the 1st balbriggan turn-off heading north.

From the Northern side ie Drogheda and the likes ( Maud )

From the drogheda toll bridge there are 3 exits for balbriggan,
Travel south, down M1 towards M50/Dublin, take the last Balbriggan/Lusk exit, ( before Donabate/swords exit ) hit rndabout at top of slip road, left and 50m immediate right turn for lusk ( old N1 ) pull in anywhere you think will fit a gang of fto's.

From Southern Side

Come off M50 at M1 travelling north for Belfast, ignore the airport and Swords/Donabate turnoffs, take first exit for Balbriggan, at top of slip, 3rd exit on roundabout, over motorway flyover tru next roundabout ( avoid lunatic Fto's coming from North ) and 50m right turn for lusk.

I think this is the best option because the lusk road offers easy access to the M50 and M1 ( and therefore the tunnel ), is fairly quiet traffic wise and has plenty of hard shoulder space etc theres also a couple of petrol stations close by ( within 10km )

we can go back onto the M1 and roar down to the tunnel like loons if we want or tip on down the old n1 past donabate and onto the M1 from Swords exit, any better suggestions????

By the way the speed camera on the old N1 doesnt work but the cops are about the M1 in recent times ( keep eye out for marked Landcruisers and wine and blue unmarked subaru foresters ) so drive with your eyes open or with a pair of slippers on

Anyone who needs better directions or is unfamiliar with the roads i mentioned can PM me and ill do my best.

Is there no car park near there somewhere we could use? Just pulling in on a hard shoulder at the side of the road doesn't sound like the best idea. Like any of the previous meets I've been to, it takes a while to get everyone together, so we could be parked in the one spot for a good while.

If you travel down that road theres an Esso with a large car park at the rear ( roundtowers filling station after Murtaghs pub ) never done a meet before so dont know whats involved just going by CJ's advice, but that esso would be a good spot.

Murtaghs carpark would be too small, there are other options ( Bewleys on the N32, Statoil Ballymun, Joe Duffy's Finglas, Statoil Blakes-cross, Astro-park Oscar Traynor road, )

Whatever suits, fancy making a call on it CJ??

Somewhere just off the M1 thats easy to find with a bit of a drive towards the tunnel is ideal - Balbriggan, Julianstown neck of the words. I don't know the area too well so can't really comment, care to elaborate Bull?

Go with the esso as suggested, anywhere else could be over complicating things, follow the directions as above and we should be dead on.

You do realise that there are different toles depending on what direction you are travelling and what time of day you travel.
I inadvertantly ended up in the tunnel the other day. The most expensive u turn I've ever made €6 one way, then €12 the other :x There are practically no trucks using the tunnel, and the quays are still jammed with HGV's  although the ban comes into force next Monday -watch this space....

There's a variable rate system?? That's just crazy..no wonder the truckers are giving out about it.
Hopefully they'll be at home giving out about it on next Sunday so we'll have it to ourselves.

Elaine -> I'm trying to convince my lady friend to come along..I think I'm suceeding - but I can never be sure as she's a she ...and changeable in nature.. can't be helped ;-)
