Indicators

Postby Ivan E » Tue Jun 10, 2003 12:04 pm

Having a problem with the indicators. A few weeks back a fuse blow and my indicators ceased to work. Got that replace and all seemed fine but on my left indicator, occasionally the light on the dash seems faint. I didn't take much noticed as it seemed to rectify itself. But now it seems to be happening more often and I checked last night to see that the back indicator doesn't work when the light is faint.

When the light on the dash is fine the indicator works everywhere. Any ideas?

Sounds like it could be either wiring a dodgy relay, have you disturbed any wiring looms recently?

No I haven't touched anything but as I said I did get a fuse replaced in relation to the indicators so I presume it has something to do with what was done there.

check the wiring at the bulb itself and then try changing the bulb

I am a mechanic!!

Cheers for the help. Took the light off and it turns out that one of the wires got trapped between the bolt and the car. Just looks squashed. Once I dislodged it the indicator worked fine.

Hopefully that's it fixed.

Complete sarcasm as otherwise I would have had a good look at all this stuff before asking. Instead had to ask before looking. Haven't a clue about cars so great feeling when I did find the problem yesterday.

Thanks again for the help.
