performance chip

Whats the story with getting the FTO chipped, have any of ye done it? What would you expect to get of an increase in performance?
Can you recommend a good brand or particular chip? Are they illegal, and would it be as easy as just swapping the chips around if you wanted to do NCT

Not something I would bother with. The fto is tuned enough and a chip simply wouldn't add much.
97 Manual GPX. Icecelle Blue.
Other Stuff: Induction kit. Front Strut. Apex Lowered. 17" Kahns. Quad exhaust. HID lights. Glow dials and rings/cups. Black leather seats. Window tints. Sunroof.

Chipping an FTO only makes sense if it's as part of a lot of other modifications, on it's own it won't add much.
As Goz says, the FTO is already well tuned.

Search the forum, there have been loads of discussions on the subject.

Put it this way - you'll get as much from removing your golf clubs from the boot and driving on 1/4 tank of fuel than you will from trying to purchase and install any sort of chip that 'promises' gains.
