Parts Problem

Postby Speedyboy » Mon Mar 03, 2003 8:07 pm

Hi all i had a spin on a oily road last week and i ruined my front left wishbone, track rod end and tie rod end.

Im having trouble find these parts Mitsubish in galway can get them but it takes ten days and cost €400, Camskill in the UK put me onto a place that could get them for €300 but would take until the end of march,

I also rang the lad who is scrapping one in the buy and sell and traynors in the north,

Anyone have any ideas where i may find them ?

Cheers

Sorry to hear that Speedy, have you tried Giles @ Jappex or Jap Autospares in Ashbourne? Their details are on the Parts\Servicing page.

Track rod ends can be purchased at any motor factors (22euro each). I changed theses recently and if "555" part are good enough for Subaru then there good enough for me. Almost sure that wishbone may be same as one of the Galants (will double check). I have a quote from Mitsi dealer in Kerry for wishbone of around 270 euro.
When you say tie rod end I presume you mean the arm out of steering rack. This again is probably the same as a 2.0 Galant

Thanks for the help lads
I got the whole lot from a lad in the north whos scrapping a few fto's (it was €170 for the lot and they seem to be in good condition) Fitted them tonight but it seriously needs tracking done so ill know tomorrow for sure.

When it was on the ramp I could see that the sub frame got a wallop which is not good but its only a tiny mark so im hoping it wont affect it.
