Whos on call?

Anyone on call? If so, I'd be interested to hear how rates compare. My company operates a policy of paying an hours pay during the week and an hour and a half on weekends (per night) for being oncall, in my case I'm oncall every other week. If I'm called and can solve the issue from home then its 2 hours pay assuming the work takes less than 2 hours. If I have to go into the office, its four hours minimum pay. Personally, I think the actual oncall rates could be better but I'd like to compare like with like.

Got called last night @ 3am, worked on the problem from home til 5am only to find out that the issue wasn't critical after all and that my Asian colleagues could have waited until the morning :x  I'm knackered today as a result, sometimes I just don't think its worth the extra few quid....

I do oncall, not too bad during the week usually, just on call during business hours (which I guess doesn't really count) and something like 2 weekends in 3. Have to do some work occasional weekends besides too for various bits and pieces, installs, patching, etc.

We get a few quid extra in the paypacket supposedly, but that only brings it up to what it should be before adding on call, and the annual rise % (performance related) doesn't count on that extra few quid. No bonuses either...

Was happy to take it at the time, out of work, but keeping my eye out for a new position...

Kev.
