Thanks guys... thought i'd replied already but must not have gone through!

Dave, I'm after an induction kit for her... Any suggestions at all? Want to get a nice grumble off with performance gains etc while still looking sweet under the hood. Do you have one in your Z as of yet?
This is something i'd like to order this week, also interested if anyone has any suggestion on where to buy / get fitted!!

Thanks in advance
Russ

The stock induction in the Zed is actually really good as it does a good impression of a Cold air induction - I just added a HKS panel filter and an external Carbon Fibre Air Duct running onto the Induction (see pic below)- I would think that if you disconnected the stock cold air system and put a HKS etc into the engine bay it would have a negative impact on performance.

Get some spacers on there - I was amazed at the difference in stance once I fitted the 20mm spacers on the TT -

Cheers MyFkfto... Looks interesting... Do you think its a worthwhile mod and is their much job fitting that..

Soc whats the story on spacers... do they not have a negative impact on handling? Have you fitted them MyFto?

No negative impact at all - not that I've notice anway. I have 20mm rear and 10mm front. You just need to make sure you get hubcentric spacers.

Fitted the Induction while I had the bumper off for debadge, reflector tint and Carbon front splitter. May be worthwhile if and when you fit a kit otherwise probably not worth taking the bumper off for the duct alone though having said that it is probably possible to fit while the bumper is still on - just a little too messy for my liking.

I don't have spacers fitted - don't need them as I have an increased offset on my Rota GTR rims. Having seen those Rays fitted to your car in the flesh I don't really see the need for spacers - lowering the Zed on Tein springs will have a more dramatic effect and would be more worthwhile. As SOC says though if fitting spacers make sure they are the motorsport type that bolt to your hub with the additional lugs - otherwise a universal type spacer will effect your handling and do your bearings no good at all.

I'm actually afraid of lowering the car as the fto was an absolute female dog when i lowered it with regards to rubbing off the arch liners etc.... took me a long time to get it sorted...
With 18's do you think lowering would be straight forward with no nasty rubbing issues?

I love the drive of the Z, had the back end out yesterday for the first time... accidently of course  Its quite similar to the fto except its all about low down torque and not the whole high revs of the fto. I'm not sure which still i prefer as the Z sounds great low down but in my opinion not great when rev'd hard... sounds a bit strained. Thats why i think i'm going to upgrade the exhaust and induction side of things to see if i can sweeten out the note of the engine.
The Z to me is all about power and luxury combined and great handling. I still find myself looking at the fto in the morning going i'd rather the raw buzz of it and taking it in!

A JWT pop charger is what you're after aka induction kit!!

Kevin over at Envy Performance is actually getting a shipment of these in, they're only usually available through the USA, he's based in the UK, also he's getting a shipment of plenum spacers which allows more air into a couple of the cylinders which is meant to add some decent mid range gains!!

you should check out www.350zownersclub.com, same as here with all the info you'll need... there are a few very decent traders as well, Phil at ESR and Kevin are very similar in service levels that we would be used to from the likes of Ricerocket and Camskill....

no not yet, I've ordered one from the states about 2 weeks ago so hopefully it should be in soon, granted I've also ordered a carbon fibre induction pipe too and possibly looking at a carbon fibre engine cover and battery&fluid covers!! I think i've got a problem!!! I know my wallet does.....
