more problems with my renewal this year!
see here for last years problem
http://www.fto-ireland.com/forum/phpBB2 ... php?t=5208

Havent any points on my licence, no claims, no changes to my policy at all (23 4yrs ncb) and the quote they have given me is 220 more than what i paid last year!i its a joke!

i asked why was there an increase and ur man said "its the cost of insurnace to the company"

he then proceeded to tell me if i get a quote as a new customer they'll give it to me at that price. i asked then why is a new customer gettin a cheaper quote and he said "thats just the way it is"

i told him i cant get a quote online, he said "oh ya you cant get a quote for that car anymore" i cant get a quote for any big car nemore since i reported them to the Irish Insurance Federation last year for givin agreeing to give me the new customer price and then refusing at the last minute.

Anyone else have this same problem?? or has urs come down??

Try Britton insurance.

What he means is if you can get a cheaper quote in writing they will match it.

Hate this "we'll match a better offer" rubbish - if they want your business they should beat the better offer!

Talk to lots of different companies/brokers, you might come up lucky and get a better deal.

I have to agree here, I spent a full day on the phone with insurance companies and found Eagle star through Britton the best by far.

I dunno about quinn. Seems some people have very bad luck with them. I had a claim against me last year and my insurance stayed the same price. I also just went onto the website just now because I never understand these "we cannot quote the FTO" stories. I have never ever once been denied a quote on an FTO by Quinn. Here is a sample I just tried. 23 year old girl with full license and no claims. under 800 euro FULLY COMP with PROTECTION. Thats a good price in my opinion. Even if I reduce her to having 1 year no claims its still around the same price?

You have obviously been black listed by them for some reason.
They have the claim on their system and you will not quote you as a new customer. Which as far as I am aware is illegal. They have to quote you.
I would have some choice words with them. Make sure you print off everything.

I believe this is why insuring an FTO is so expensive in the first place, they see 2 door Coupe and imediatley place it in the highest cat of insurance. Not enough research into diff models and engines. It is a lot easier to get insurance in cars a hell of a lot more powerful that the FTO.
