Pity I didn't think about that sooner Dave - black 2" Wavin would work well in terms of fitting in with that OEM look, that said, the smell of Wavin weld in the cockpit would have been overpowering for a few days....

apologies for thread hijack for straying off topic..

Have gotten hold of a large piece of perspex will hopefully get around to doing a few bits early in the new year.

here's my BHAG:
Heatshield (lined with alufoil)
New sides to center console (in footwell) with speaker fitting (8"bass unit for extra trouser shaking effect)
Tail lights - depends on availablity of broke units from scrapper

Funny Man - might as well have used chocolate as use wavin for a Cat bypass!

On the subject of wavin - Anyone remember the Wavin Hurley? That was about as usefull as a wavin Cat bypass!

Remember some youngfla on the road got one - I borrowed it off him, threw a rock up in the air, pulled on the hurl and promptly broke it in half on impact. There was an awful vibration off them as well. Wavin is a truely versitile material but it has no place in the hurling arena....

CJ - Back on topic - Was it a lot of hassle fitting the sensors?

I'm checking up on the gauge things..I wasn't aware that I'd need to remove the oil filter to put a sensor between the filter and the engine block - or in the case of the water temp gauge I'd need to cut the hose and stick a sensor in between.

Am considering following your example... argh so many things I want to do to that car..

CJ - Back on topic - Was it a lot of hassle fitting the sensors?

No - its just a matter of wrapping the thread on the enders in PTFE (aka Teflon) tape (you can get it in any hardware) and making them into the sandwich plate, they will also have to be earthed to the chassis. The most difficult part is getting the cabling thru the bulkhead. A water temp sensor should be easy to fit - just a matter of cutting one of the hoses, fixing the insert in place and then fixing the sender in place.
