Brake squeal fix

Postby CJ » Thu Jul 22, 2004 9:03 am

I had a 'squealing' from the front brakes when slowly coming to a stop, I decided to replace the retaining clips and problems solved! Theres still a small bit of brake noise from the Pagid pads but the annoying screech has dissapeared. You can get them from Camskill for £9.70.

I had what i thought was the same problem as you, after trying several things, found that when I replaced the brake fluid (with DOT 5.1) the problem was solved. Only thing I can think of was that the fluid was boiling and brakes were slipping as i was coming to a halt.

My pads are a bit worn and I have a terrible squeal, Ordered pads from cam skill yesterday I hope that solves it now and I dont need a retaining clip!
