Toyo PX4's?

Postby Mitsubishi-Mental » Thu Feb 24, 2011 7:32 pm

Well lads,

I need 4 new tyre's for the FTO.

I initially opted for the T1R's but there out of stock in Pro-Parts. So they offered me these Toyo Proxies 4 all round for 300euro, fitted and balanced which are supposed to be very similar to the T1R's

Anybody used these before? Or maybe any other reccommendations for a good set and where to get them?

I need to get them on for the meet on saturday :smt003

Cheers lads :smt023

if you have it in you try giving Modern Tyres in Newry a buzz..

Ive been getting tyres for both the Veccy and the OPC up there a couple of times now.
Eiretyres.ie can be alright for prices, but last 4-5 times Ive checked Newry has worked out 20-50e cheaper per corner.

my alloys are 15's so i think 15' tyres would be a good match :smt003

dont think 16 or 17 fit on the 15 inch rims

why would you downgrade?

Your car is up for sale but you spent money on lowering it and you want to buy 4 new tyres for 300 yoyos
Am I missing something?:)

anyway it's a bit late now but camskill stock a good range of tyres
Here is the link :

http://camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m53b0s0p0

Also have a look on donedeal ,dtdirl ,gumtree for 17 inch alloys . fitment is 5 x 114.3 I reckon you can get a decent set for around 2-3 hundred

Someone would surely take your 15s as a swap for standard 16s.
15s would be very handy for those doing 1/4 miles.

Don't get toyos, unless you want to die.

They have no grip, not good in the wet and the threads don't last very long, they take a while to warm up in cold weather.

Keep them for the track, not the ditch.

Camskill are good for tyres. I got uniroyal rainsport 2's for mine recently.

Some GRs came with 15'' originally, mine came with 15'' tires and those ugly standard black rims covered by that covers(dont know the name) for example. And i know it was an original FTO set because it has the mitsubishi logo on it,and also saw those on a catalogue.Btw,i got rid of them on the first week i had the FTO,i gave them for free lol
I'm spanish, sorry if my english is so poor,i learned it at school when i was a kid and i forgot almost all of it lol

I disagree, the T1Rs I had on the VR-4 were surprisingly grippy in most conditions, they're not known to last too long though (soft compound).

Did you find them grippy in the cold and bad wet? Definitely don't last long.

I had the Toyo T1R's on the Asti Mivec, and they were great excellent heat up, great grip in wet and dry,

Couldn't get the T1R's this time as they only have these PX4's in stock but they're supposed to be very similar.

Haven't tried Uniroyals yet
