Ok guys, was talking to the manager in the Merriman, and negotiated a price of €35 for B&B, which sounds pretty good to me. (That's based on 2 per room, if you want a room to yourself there's a €20 single occupancy charge)

I also talked about the idea of doing a deal for an evening meal too. If we have more than 10 (looks likely) he will do include a 3 course meal for €30 extra, so that would be €65 for dinner, bed and breakfast. (Can probably get menu if required)

They have a bar there too and said they do have music there at night, so that's a option. But there should be plenty of nice venues in Kinvara anyway, so we'll have choices on the night.

Anyway, let me know what you think of the B&B, and the dinner option and I'll get back to the manager later, which will allow people to start booking.

Good prices on the B&B but would personally prefer the restaurant down by the pier and it'd get us out of the hotel. The pub crawl around Kinvara is good craic - back to the hotel for the residents bar alright.

Sounds good to me aswell, although I agree with myfeckin FTO. Dinner outside the hotel would be nice and a few pubs on the way back to the hotel.

Maybe book a table for 20 (or 2 x 10) - we can conf exact figures closer to date.

I'm abroad till february ,
can someone PM me if there are still rooms in that hotel or what B & B did you guys choose?
I stayed there a couple of years ago in a B&B over the summer and it was fantastic , it was somewhere on the left up the hill how you enter the town cant remember their name..

Has anyone contacted the karting place for a deal of is it a set price no matter what.

Not been on to the karting place myself. But I was on to the manager in the Merriman again. They are taking bookings at €35 for B&B if you mention FTO-Ireland, he thinks (and I didn't deny) that its a classic car club. He also mentioned there is a problem with booking online they are aware of, so you need to ring them.

To be fair it practically is a classic car club at this stage.

The FTO is 17 years old this year and the trend has moved away from modifying to preserving the FTO in as good a nick as possible with possibly some tastleful but subtle updates to the styling.

I've sent off an email to Tynagh there now (no answer from phone) so I await there response re price for GP.

Story with Karting as follows.
In an effort to keep everyone on track at the same time we'll be going with the following format:

20mins of practice and qualifying.
Break for 10mins
20mins of a race (final).

Cost €50.

I have booked the track for the 26th Feb at 1430.
