MOTORISTS will have to pay more for their National Car Test (NCT) from next month after Transport Minister Leo Varadkar approved a 10pc increase in the fee.
The cost of the NCT is set to rise by 10pc from €50 to €55 from February 1.

Money grabbing bar stewards.
A comparison was done a while back, where they booked the same car into several NCT centres. Each one failed it on different things, all visual ones.
Just goes to show. The whole thing is a complete farce.
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Typical.....make it one year instead of two, bring in a load of rules that have nothing to do with safety, increase the cost....
I'm warning you all, next thing is that no car more than 2 years old will be allowed on the roads in Ireland. They are trying to get people to buy new cars to bring in revenue, why else the major rise in failure rates and other items? Bloody corrupted fascists.

Japan only has to replace cars every 10 years isn't it? At the rate we're going it'll be a lot worse here in time. Only way to avoid it is by going the other extreme, and getting a car so old that its exempt from NCT.

Thats why there is so many 10+year old jap imports coming off the boats.
Never understood why so many cars were exported from japan by 3rd parties .
The ONLY 95GR in shocking red with these specific faults.
