Undersealing in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork

Postby Bartpabicz » Wed Aug 03, 2011 2:54 pm

Hi everyone,

First a word of introduction: few weeks ago I had my FTO looked at and fixed at a small garage in Ringaskiddy recommended to me by a friend (one of the mechanics there is a Mitsi fan). They replaced a few suspension parts, rocker cover gaskets and other bits and pieces, and also carried out rust removal and undersealing.

Now, to the point. Since as far as I know rust is a common problem in FTO's, I approached them and asked if they'd be willing to offer a discount for the club members if several owners would decide to do undersealing. The regular price for FTO is 240, but said they'd reduce it by 10-15% depending on the interest. So, is anyone interested?

The more the merrier, bear in mind Retrocars in Dublin give 25% off as well.

I was thinking about Retro myself, but since I'm based in Cork and pretty much never go to Dublin I almost gave up on it. As it turned out though that small garage does underseals as well and offered me a discount since I was doing a lot of work with the car. Anyway, I was happy with their work, so if there would be others interested in undersealing in Cork area let me know.

A little of the topic but still about the garage. How much did they charge to change the rocker cover gaskets out of interest. ?

hard to say as they quoted me for the whole job, including steering rack replacement, shock mounting and few other things. Can't help you with that I'm afraid :|

I didn't arrange a group discount for the site, if you read the thread you will see it's an individual discount, you just need to to tell Shane you are from fto-ireland and you will get 25% off.

And I'm saying you don't have to wait to go with a group to get a discount. Thats all.

Hi again,

After two hours of struggling with new interior LED's I finally have a minute to sit down for a while and update this thread. I have some news regarding that undersealing in Ringaskiddy. I managed to get a few people together from outside FTO-Ireland to carry out some repairs and undersealing of their cars in that garage I mentioned and the owners agreed on 15% discount on all undersealing carried out there for FTO-Ireland members. Just mention FTO-Ireland when booking and they will apply the discount. The price for FTO's after reduction is 205, and as far as I know they will do other cars as well, but price may vary.

The head mechanic's name is Krzysztof, his number is 0870546942.

The address is St Bernadette Pl, Shanbally (link to the map below)

Hope it will be handy. All the best!

I'll head down there in a few weeks if I got the money as I always wanted it done and it's not too far away from me. I have a few things to do to the car first over the next few weeks

Thanks for the heads up Bart!

Well done, mention it to Seb here and he'll put it up in the discount forum.
