This where you guys come in - if you've local company contacts who you feel would be open to a discount scheme, send them onto seb.

Cool, do we have numbers of members on a regional basis, as if we could go to a place and say we have so many munster/cork/limerick members and if they were willing to give discounts then theres a high possibility they would get their custom, it would be a positive selling point? I know we could go through the members list but a lot of names havent locations beside them. I know when I was going through the list for mailing about the meet on last saturday there were about 40 names with munster locations beside them.

I know of one place that I always use for filters, oils, and wiper blades, general service stuff, that I can mention it to. Might be a place in limerick that does tyres pretty resonable, its a youngish fella, drives a dc5 so he might be willing to offer a discount too. I can check it out regarding the cork place, and maybe get herself to pay a visit to the limerick lad.

I'm not trying to be negative but I reckon it would be difficult to get an Irish insurance company to sponsor the club. The UK insurance industry is a different story, they actually care about their customers and are more than happy to do club deals. That said, if you don't ask, you don't get - more of a chance of setting this up through a broker. We tried to get a similar scheme off the ground a few years back with O'Reilly Cullen but there wasn't enough interest from the membership to make it worthwhile.

Suggest that you pm Dave to see if he can pull some strings....

What?!?! Were all the members retarded at that time?!?

I'd jump straight on the band wagon, even if it was a bit more expensive!!

But surely with everyone having different factors (eg. O Reilly C said I was too young today for that kind of car) they wouldn't just brush these all off likely.

They could only benefit though, I'd say about 95% on this forum treat our cars right and don't act the fool. And we'd be loyal for life if they treated us right.

HINT

Half of the member base are still here Laura, why don't you ask them?

IIRC, we needed a minimum of 30 people to make a go of it, FTO-Ireland was a smaller entity back then.

Seb, I suggest you put the idea to Dave to see if its something that would be worthwhile following up on.

I did try to get some sort of scheme going a few years ago but it never took off, there wasn't enough interest and most didn't seem bothered so it was dropped!

i guess we have to see real interest in members before Dave gives a try ?!?

May i remind everyone who used Camskill , Opie Oils or DTAS since when we started this discount scheme that FEEDBACK is essential .

Any + or - comments will help other site members to make an idea of the products and the discount scheme and also will give credit and support to the partner sites.

Please post in the dedicated threads

Cheers
